Surface mount with a built-in 15° angle adapter (reversible left or right) for installs where the doorbell needs to face slightly off-axis. Same surface-mount footprint as the standard box.

The original Ring Elite is Ring's premium 1st-generation PoE (Power over Ethernet) doorbell, released in 2016. Unlike battery or low-voltage Ring doorbells, the Elite is powered and connected over a single Ethernet cable and is designed to flush-mount into a recessed single-gang electrical box. If your doorbell uses PoE and looks like the image above, this is your collection.
Same name lineage, very different doorbell. The original Elite is 1080p HD, released in 2016. The new Ring Elite 4k (2026) is a 2nd-generation Retina 4k model with an updated body — different mounting geometry and different bracket. If you have the Elite 4k, use the Ring Elite 4k Doorbell Mounts collection instead.
The Elite is designed to flush-mount into a recessed single-gang electrical box, but you don't need one if you use our Surface Mount Box. The Surface Mount Box gives the Elite the same gang-box interface but sits on top of your wall — no cutting into the wall required. Includes bottom vents and Ethernet cable routing.
For vinyl siding, the original Ring Elite typically needs the Surface Mount Box plus a vinyl siding bracket. The newer Ring Elite 4k has a dedicated vinyl siding mount listed in the Elite 4k collection. For the original Elite, contact us for the right combination.
Yes. We make surface mounts with built-in 15° angle adapters (reversible left or right) for installs where the doorbell needs to face off-axis. Other angles are possible as a custom request.
The Elan doorbell uses the same gang-box mounting standard as the Ring Elite. The same surface-mount and angle-adapter design fits both, so we list the Elan-specific variant here as a convenience.
Attach the Surface Mount Box to your exterior wall using the included mounting screws (4 corners). Route your Ethernet cable through the cable port. Attach the Ring Elite to the front of the box using the screws that came with the Elite. Bottom vents allow heat to dissipate and water to drain.
Black by default to match the Elite's dark housing. Other colors via the Color Change Request add-on at checkout.
The original Ring Elite shows up in custom and pro installations. Our Surface Mount Box and angle adapter brackets cover the most common scenarios, and we'll happily quote custom geometry for unusual installs.
